SWIC RMIC Vegas SUPER meet

for vegas flyer2 SWIC RMIC Vegas SUPER meet

Among Subaru enthusiast there is a particular group that does not fit the stereotype of a Subaru owner. These are the WRX and STi owners of the Subaru realm. These hardcore ‘suby’ enthusiasts typically hang out in car garages, racetracks, drag strips, and the forums on ‘teh’ Internet. Some of the biggest being ‘NASIOC’ and ‘IWSTI’. They are consistently improving power, handling and overall performance. But one of the more favorite things to do is get together and have ‘meets’. When you buy a Subaru WRX or STI you are also being adopted into a family environment, but a word to the wise do not be of the ‘ricer’ mentality or they will disown you. Subaru’s hail from a very strong heritage of Rally, and not just any rally, World Rally Championship rallying. Which is most likely the source for the race mindset.

The NASIOC forum is made up by chapters, these chapters are made up by states. Within each chapter members have meets. And sometimes chapters meet together. When theses happen its like having one of the biggest family reunions you have ever seen. This is about to happen between the RMIC (Rocky Mountains Impreza Club) and the SWIC (South West Impreza Club) and it has the promise and makings to be one of the biggest meets in the west. In the RMIC chapter, meets have been upwards of 100+ cars at a single meet, in a single state. The RMIC SWIC Vegas meet begins with the RMIC member traveling cross-country to Vegas Friday night. With the real meet begins on Saturday at 1:00pm at “Subaru of Las Vegas” for a BBQ where there will be prizes given and friendships made. This meet is so big that they even have been sponsored by Eneos oil who is an avid fan of Racing and Race cars alike with many sponsored cars in different series. Rumor also has it that Red Bull could be a sponsor also of the meet. So if you are ‘in the area’ come by and see what could be the largest meet this year (with the exception of SEMA).

I personally am a very proud to be apart of the Subaru family. When I purchased my Subaru I was very surprised to find I had so many friends I didn’t even know about. I have sadly sold my subaru, but am searching for another ;) But I happily still attend meets in my area every Thursday. And plan on attending the RMIC SWIC Vegas meet.
